Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot (julienned)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing all your ingredients. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain. Ensure your shrimp are peeled and deveined. Chop all vegetables so they are ready for cooking.
  2. In a bowl, combine sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well until every piece is coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes to enhance flavor.
  3. Place your wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil once it’s hot enough.
  4. Add marinated flank steak to the wok. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove from wok and set aside.
  5. In the same wok, add shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  6. Add bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, garlic, and ginger into the wok with shrimp. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  7. Return cooked steak to the wok with vegetables and shrimp. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook together for an additional minute.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving hot over rice or noodles if desired.
