- 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until soft and caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
- In the same skillet, heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil over high heat. Add marinated beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour over beef and simmer until thickened.
- Add sautéed onions back to the skillet and stir to combine. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
