  • 3 large ripe peaches
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Cream cheese for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Wash and chop the peaches into small pieces.
  3. In one bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and ground cloves.
  4. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk until combined; gently fold in the chopped peaches.
  7. Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake for about 80 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
