  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter (or vegan butter)
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles pea-sized pieces.
  4. Stir in molasses and milk until just combined.
  5. Form dough into a circle about 3/4” thick on a baking sheet.
  6. Brush top with milk and sprinkle sugar.
  7. Cut into wedges and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
