  1. Cook the tortellini according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Steam the broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender; plunge into ice water to stop cooking, then drain.
