  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 pint vegetable oil
  • Kosher salt (optional for seasoning after frying)

Instructions

  1. Slice jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove seeds if desired; cut into spears.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, eggs, and beef broth; whisk until smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 365°F (185°C).
  4. Dip each jalapeno spear into the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Remove fried jalapenos with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
