  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • Shredded lettuce and chopped dill pickles (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and add onion and garlic; cook until softened. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and spices.
  3. In a bowl, combine torn buns with melted butter and sesame seeds.
  4. Layer half of the bun mixture in a greased baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture. Spread half of the special sauce and top with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving topped with lettuce, pickles, and American cheese.
